I think it is technically possible for this to be sort of like a layer above the neo cortex that makes even better decisions for us and our welfare. I think most people are fundamentally extremely good. A very few people wake up in the morning thinking about, how can i make the world a worse place? But the incentive systems that we're in are so powerful.
