The Role of Religion in Legislation

The role of religion just seemed to me extremely difficult. It seems to be completely wrong that religion should be given an enormous part in producing legislation. I've involved very much and have been in changing the law about euthanasia, about assisted suicide and assisted death. Anyone who says well human life is a gift from God is just simply talking irrelevantly because not everybody believes that.
