The Human Engineering of Judgment and Decision Making
The human engineering of judgment and decison making is a discipline yet to be borne. The mumbi train intervention responded to a slegh of classic cognitive biases. We take our cues from what everyone else is doing, including what's safe. This brings up the bigger question of how governments should deal with a cognitive bugs in their citizenry. Nudges are a way of engaging what danyan calls system one, our snap judgments. But there's also system too, our ability to reflect, ponder, think twice.
