Dylan: If you really feel like mass culture is lobotomizing the entire populace and turning them into slaves, it'd be like the same kind of reaction you'd have to everybody becoming plugged into the matrix or something like that. So we have this really interesting idea that a Kantian cognitive category is actually being replaced with this cultural category that does this work. And that's the way in which you lose all your freedom.
