Is the Picture Plant Delegating Digestion to the Microbes?
North American picture plants may be delegating some of their digestion to the stuff living in it, which is wild. The plant has very mildly acidic fluid and doesn't produce a lot of its own enzymes. In that case, it's relying entirely on bacteria and mid-s larvae to break down food for it. Some species had pictures with a very brightly colored fluid, like a bright neon green or neon orange.
