The Benefits of Sensory Overkill
The notion of sensory overkill is very interesting here because he's gone through the binary classifier thing and has actually kind of showed us that if we have a string of bits, in many cases we don't actually need that many of them. It's also interesting that this is an argument for the benefit of hypersensitivity. At a kind of political level or a social level, we could argue for societies that are more like the culture rather than territorial state-like kind of societies,. which are more shell-like. There is a benefit to the ultra-sensitivity and sheer variety of capacities of a a-percentsive system.
