The Power of Knowing a Place

The Sanjiang plain is a very interesting case study for exploring these different ways of knowing and the power that comes with understanding a place. I end the book by suggesting that the knowledge built through labor is perhaps in a sort of apogee of embodied knowledge and forms the broadest base of what it means to know a place. The material culture of labor could be an interesting way of going about it but that's not what I did.
