A mock is a summary of something, such as how action potentials travel in neurons. A map of content can be an image of all the major ideas that you've been learning about. You create your own textbook in obsidian and it grows with you from semester to semester. For me, when I've read books, I've been starting to do visual maps of content. And once you get the sum right, like Victor Frankl's Man Search for Me, there were three core ideas which have a photo where there are three arrows branching away into different directions.
Skye Helfant is a Sophomore Utrecht University student studying Artificial Intelligence. He’s a great video editor and fellow YouTuber creating content documenting his journey into learning how to code. He uses Obsidian and Anki as the main knowledge management apps for his second brain. He’s also my twin brother. In this episode we discuss how he uses Anki and Obsidian for language learning and coding. We discuss the pitfalls most students fall into with their notetaking. We talk what makes a life meaningful, and how to create a vision as a student.
