The problem comes when a child's behaviour is communicating something that they cannot verbalize. I have come across children who are acting out in school, and were being evaluated by myself and others to address challenging behaviors in the school. In one particular case, the fact that the child was being beaten at home with a belt might never have come to light. So we have to be careful to insure that we have a thorough functional analysis of behavior and we have to understand the emotional world. Thats o li atf iself, right? Yes.
