How to Have a Meaningful Conversation About Something That Is Undefined

I think most of what's like being hype right now is machine learning. But if you're just kind of AI, fear mongering, it's really hard to have a meaningful conversation. I guess fundamentally no one really knows how the human brain works. So without understanding stuff like that, there's no reasonable principles to start from for actually creating an artificial version of that.
