The Challenges Traders Face
In 2017, we had a really great year. We did very well. I would term it as a year of outperformance. Then we walked into some months where volatility picked up. When volatility picks up, generally, traders ought to make a lot more money. Movement breeds a more opportunity, which is best for traders. In our case, going from trading unique sets of stocks to trading the overall market was challenging. It's a very difficult thing to spend five or six years in a low volatility market and then be told that you've got to go trade all these things that weren't working. That's a hard thing to do.
