The Paradox of Causal Closure
Don't most philosophers think we know causal closure is true? And so we've got empirical reasons for doubting Tim's view. But yeah, I think it's just a default hypothesis. It's not a coincidence that physicists have arrived at this pared down picture of four fundamental forces. They got it by pairing by getting rid of ones that they didn't need. The thing is, I don't think introspection is a good reason for for revising the picture. We can give explicit reports on our own internal condition. This is a weird thing to be. Oh, sorry.
