As paper products get massed produced and as postage costs drop, a cupid is getting slapped on vale tines day cards. In like, 18 forty, britoin started the uniform penny post that allowed anyone in england to send something in the mail for just one penny. And after the 18 fifties, congress voted to decrease postage rates. So everybody was like, sweet, in these repressed victorian times, i can finally express my sentiments through the anonimity of the mail.
