Is the Bible a Resource for Cultural Critique?

I think some of that I think within at least American evangelical circles has been sort of marked by what I would call a privatized faith. The Bible makes it very clear that we to live our neighbors, one aspect of living our neighbors is helping to make the sort of society that's going to allow people to flourish. So I wouldn't want to pit the individual against the social or against the collective. But I think that it's a shame if we narrow what it means to love our neighbor only to the individual.
