The Proof with Simon Hill

CHAPTER

Creatine and Brain Injury

Are there any trials that have looked at some of these different populations whether it's young persons with TBI or footballers with chronic traumatic encephalopathy and seeing any change in outcomes? Yeah, that's a great question. The concussion literature unfortunately comes mostly from theoretical models and animal models and some observations. But the thing about creatine is that we have hundreds of studies on efficacy and safety and it's relatively inexpensive, widely available. If you are at a high risk for a brain injury then I think it's probably more prudent to recommend that you add creatine supplements to your diet if you're a high risk sport.
