Social hierarchies presupposes that one can be unequal to oneself across time. It's just not within the realm of possibility to have equal outcomes and still have any possibility of upward movement, whether that's socially or economically. And this calls to mind are much earlier discussion of, you know, the 1% people often demonizing the 1%. But that belies the reality that that 1% cohort is constantly changing - it's not the same cohort. So that's a consequence of socio economic mobility, which is a consequence of unequal outcomes.
