The History of Breadfruit in the Caribbean
In Jamaica breadfruit is seen as a symbol of perseverance. Today there's more breadfruit growing in the Caribbean than in Hawaii because it basically died out in Hawaii. By the 1920s there was no more breadfruit commercially cultivated there. They just converted the plants from ooloo from breadfruit to coffee.
