The Utilities of Paycheck Protection Loans

The SBA Inspector General's office is reported to have a backlog of more than 80,000 actionable fraud leads to investigate. A study by three professors from the University of Texas at Austin discovered almost five times as many suspicious paycheck protection loans as the Small Business Administration has reported so far. Their research cited indicators of fraud in loans like non-registered businesses, multiple loans going to the same address and abnormally high implied compensation per employee.
