The Zong Massacre in the Second Half of 1781

The Zong was a ship that crossed the Atlantic in 1781 with 400 Africans on board. It took 100 days to get across it Atlantic and by the time they got to Jamaica where they're in, they claim to run out of water. So at that point, someone decides that what they're going to do is throw some of the Africans into the sea in order that they can claim insurance on the money. That's a Liverpool because the whole of the trisatlantic slave trade is built on insurance as any other industry is.
