Inflation has destroyed civilizations in the past. It breaks down the most powerful form of economic communication, which is the price signal. And it can lead to an interpersonal breakdown in a way that people don't really appreciate when they see the statistical report every month. If inflation, that was like taking the antenna on those old televisions we had growing up and then the screen gets fuzzy and you can't hear your programme any more.
