The Importance of Understanding the Healthcare System
I don't have to be treated badly just because you're having a rough time. Empathy is really important, but sympathy can be dangerous. An entitlement is even more dangerous. Use it with some caution. If you see a healthcare professional, you're paying for their years of training and expertise not just for the time they spend with you. Just because someone charges more doesn't mean they're better than others. When I get a tradesperson to come into my house and fix something, some of them take longer than others. But as long as the job's done, and it's done to the highest quality standards and meets all guidelines and specifications, that's the most important thing. So
