The Republican Party has been transformed by the strategic on a changes to the rules and the incentives practised by these archright donors. They are desperate to stop action on the climate, which their libertarian dogma also deems inappropriate. So that is not really aa party any more in the sense of traditional american major parties representing different interests. This republican party now has an almost lenenis discipline, and that is by design, from the way the donors have rerigged the punishments and the incentives. We've just never seen that kind of tight coordination before. And we just don't have anything else like that in our history.
