We don't know how high the seas will rise and how much the forest will burn. These are set in motion, as any scientist will tell you, that cannot be undone. And if we think we can control them, then our hubris knows no bounds. There is a poem and a prayer that's in one of the essays in this edition that I'd like to share to end the talk. It's very beautiful, it's very simple. You must bear witness to the loss and the change that will be even greater and even harder than we possibly could ever imagine.
