First short story i ever wrote, hank, was about a kid who had only been allowed to read the bible and had been home schooled. I think it's tremendously challenging to try to live in a world where the sort of common cultural references are very different from your own on experience or of your own childhood. And if your family knows that you love you love them, then you're doing the thing right? Um, do you love me? Hank? Come on.
