The Effect of Light on Memory

Mice can't change emotional status of memory just by turning lights on and off. What they do is take spatial component of the memory, the wear part inside the hippocampus,. They turn those brain cells on again while they give the mouse an opposite emotion. So if it learned to really like the space because it had a female for company, they now turn that memory of the place on while they're giving electric shocks rather than vice versa.
