Are Your Intuitions About What Is Degrading?

I think one thing that made me a little hesitant in reading the book is that, you'll often make statements like, such and such degrades a norm. Like, i an example, people allowing, like, selling rights to advertising on their homes or cars, or even on their person am to companies degrades them. I was just wondering if you felt that your observ ons or your intuitions about what is degrading are are thos?
