The Parting of the Red Sea

The Red Sea is really the Sea of Reads. That's what it says in Hebrew. The reason why it's, you know, we say Red Sea and our English translations is that this has to do with influence of Greek translators of the Bible before the time of Jesus. There was a little bit confusion about what body of water was actually represented by this term Red Sea.
