He would talk about reading the book of and he had a very vivid image of when he reads a book, he draws a little vertical line in the margin when he sees a particularly good sentence or phrase That really resonates with me in a way that Kingsley's writing doesn't. It's not like Kingsley, it's much more like Nabokov or Bello compared Martin Amos to Nabokov, Joyce and Flaubert.
