"The worker has become a commodity," he says. "If they don't do their part, they can be fired, and they can starve" The products themselves have a kind of power over liets - it's not only that the product doesn't belong to them but that it's actually something that's hostile. But however much the worker is aware of it or not, they are still alienated.
