The Modern Conservative Party Under Boris Johnson
Without Boris Johnson, I'm not sure that the country would have voted for Brexit. The restoration of national sovereignty is one of the great achievements of modern conservatism. He defeated Jeremy Corbyn, something Theresa May couldn't do and so those are two pretty significant achievements. What it is is a party of the old, it's a whole policies askew towards helping older voters, and it's a party of staying in power. And I'm afraid Boris Johnson personifies that. But how he stays in government, what purpose he serves while in his government, I think is very much secondary to him.
