Aquinas' Arguments for the Existence of God

Aquinas offers a number of arguments for the existence of God throughout his career. Most famously in his work, the Summa Theologiae, he offers five arguments that he calls the five ways. All of them follow the same basic pattern of reasoning from effect to cause. If you hear a knocking at the door, you know that that sound isn't sufficient to have caused itself.
