The Fruit of the Spirit in a Ministry

When I listen to a teacher, does that make me love Jesus more? Does that make me trust in his kindness and his graciousness more? Or is what's being said, actually making me more judgmental of people around me? Is it making me feel more insecure about my own self? I don't trust teaching that. And the fruit was exactly what the tree would produce if there's no grace or gospel driving the language.
