The Roman Forum in Britain

The romans constructed their own, many versions of the roman forum in the occupied towns in britain. These new british forms also served as roman style market places. All these terms have passed into modern english and basically their original latin form. The celtic tradition of trial by druids in the forest was gradually being replaced by these formal legal proceedings.
