The Politics of Yiddish
There was always a negotiation between multiple forms of yiddish and similarly if you look at the waves of language reforms in the soviet union he is very carefully planned out. The politics of language might be a gesture towards internationalism i wouldn't say that there's a single core or a single linguistic politics there it's so dependent on the location and on historicizing what was happening with yiddish in that moment. There has been largely a 21st century resurgence amongst people who for whom it's not a first language but yeah it's a very different yiddish than i'm sure then is still a spoken living language in some of these other communities.
