Is This a Totem?

I really liked that she grabbed his pin and threw it into the ocean. It was so small and it was so useless of a gesture, but throughout this entire show, it's like, consider this incredibly important totem. But I've seen the argument that this show feels stiffer in its language because it is at any more medieval time than 200 years before. We had to sit through quite a few episodes of scraping grayscale off a guy. That was hot. Like talking about perversity.
