Carmichael Mann Accused of Swindling 2.8 Million Dollars

Carmichael Mann accused of using heightened concern about missing children in the mid 90s to swindle people nationwide out of 2.8 million. Stephen Brent Prine extracted money between July 1993 and April 1995 from contributors who were told by telemarketers it would be used to print and distribute a free magazine picturing missing children. The 28 count indictment charges Prine 45 with mail and wire fraud and money laundering. He is free on his own recognizance pending arraignment October 23rd in Sacramento federal court.
