Is There a Book in the Library?

Cevarian never comes to a door. He actually just goes down to a tunnel of some sort. There are more portraits on the wall. All of these he notices has some sort of book. I don't know how he notices this. It seems like to me that like maybe he realizes that when he becomes like, Oh, Tarch or someone says, you know, over the key. That doesn't happen.
