The Importance of Political Criteria in Sport

I was just thinking perhaps rather cynically that it used to be said that to give an analogy with sport, global sport, there's no politics in sport. Now politics is very much a part of sport when it comes to Western foreign policy objectives like on Ukraine or ideological issues like LGBT. And I'm thinking, wow, where did that happen? You know, the double standards,. and of course it's led by a Western agenda all the time. Yes, we mustn't have, but we mustn’t have politics in sport, except when we, the West decide we can.
