Plato's Socrates

David Frum: Is there a summation of what Plato's Socrates is up to versus the Socrates of others? He says Socratic philosophy does not take for granted the validity of the scientific or philosophic project. Frum: The alternative starting point might be, well, we understand that the world operates according to a certain necessities and we can understand it using sort of scientific inquiry or the scientific method.
