How Does the Magnus Effect Work?

This is a catamaran boat with two pontoons instead of one hull. sticking up where the mast would be on a sail boat is a cylinder, and then the cylinder is spun up with a motor. The way this works is exactly like the way you make a socker ball or a baseball curve. It's spinning, so it wants to be pulled in one direction. This is, instead your spinning the rotor, you know, stationarye to the boat. And then you've got wind coming across it, and that makes it want to curve, i e, push it through the water.
