Is Quality a Default Parameter?

What everybody really wants, i think, is they would like an application that has all the functionality anybody would ever want with zero defects. And so obviously we compromise in some of those areas - it's going to vary from situation to situation. But one of the common patterns that i think, i's one to watch out for is treating quality as a default adjustable parimeter.
