The History of the Western
The Western has a long history in silent cinema as well, but in the sound era from 1927 to about 1956. It really did a lot of work of the things that we like today, basically two important genres, the action film and the superhero film. Todd: There were certain things that were visible to be made as an object of critique that are no longer visible. But I think it also is there are certain things that are maybe problematic about its disappearance as a genre.
