NASA and the Chinese Threat of Getting to the Moon First
NASA also wants to find a way to extract hydrogen and oxygen from the moon dirt, both of which would be critical in making rocket fuel and of course air. NASA has reached out to select universities to help them dig into the challenge. The Chinese do hope to get to the moon by year say 2030. Meanwhile, NASA plans to get there a little bit earlier by the year 2025,. But the race is on regardless because both sides are scouting out the exact same spots for landing zones, bases and mining.
