He lived roughly this, I mean, almost exactly the same time as Queen Victoria. He's almost an exact contemporary in birth and death, isn't he? Charles Dickens, Charles Darwin, Karl Marx. Can you think of any other ones? They are all sort of contemporaries within three or four years. There's always charming pictures of them young often before they've been trousers. And then one of them is a very old man with its kind of like Methuselah beard draped over the paint.
