Reza Aslan: The logical conclusion from what I just said is that Jesus didn't exist. But there's one little crank in that theory, he says. He points to a Jewish historian named Josephus who was writing for the Roman emperor Titus about 60 years after Jesus had died. In this sort of passage,. he's writing about people who matter, not some illiterate, simple Galilean peasant who thought he was the Messiah. And indeed nobody cares about that. This is not a, a, a chapter about Jesus. It's not even a line. That's right. You can't do a throwaway clause.
