I think one thing that we kind of like took our eye off of through the 90s and the 2000s was how, you know, the internet expanded. And US companies dominate what we do online, whether it's shopping or watching stuff or searching for information. The notion that we would have a Canadian company that would be able to provide an alternative to that is just like unimaginable to most people,. I feel like it's really important right now with these tech companies threatening to take the news off of their platforms.

Paris Marx is joined by David Moscrop to discuss Canada’s plan to make Google and Meta pay news publishers, and what might happened now that they’re threatening to pull Canadian news from their platforms.
