I think it's sort of a subtle way of letting people know where they are. The roundel is basically the red circle with the blue line through it saying Underground, saying the name of the station. In some places there are slight and different roundels. So at Moorgate, one of them is Diamond, which is because of the railway used to belong to you before you came and called it the second one. I also talk to my head.
