What's Behind the Scenes of an Episode?

i'm super curious about what goes into an episode. What hardware and soffwere do you use? How long does it take in total, and how much is research versus recording,. verses editing, et cetera? Do you often refer to the same source material, or find new source material each time? i'll need your help dom for some of this.
