One view might be that people actually never really change their moral views. If they depend centrally on an issue or a belief about the world, you then lose that belief. You could imagine some things that are so entrenched that you make up other reasons for believing them. That's why I think people get frustrated trying to reason somebody out of a moral conviction is it just seems like there's nothing you can do.

Dave and Tamler try their best to do a show without guests--we talk about moral persuasion, motivated reasoning, and whether it's legitimate to use emotionally charged rhetoric in a philosophical argument. Plus, we describe how students proceed through the "Stages-of-Singer," and Tamler finally defends himself against Dave's slanderous accusation of hypocrisy about animal welfare.
