On March 13, we got mean service to country radio as the third single from speak now. This was a very strange time for us because it is the one and only time Taylor has pushed two singles concurrently,. So mean came first. My theory is that she put mean to country radio and the story of us to pop radio. But mean became the breakout hit from speak now because speak now wasn't a singles album. The love story, it really was kind of a whole body of work. It's her most prolific songs too, like very heartbreaking songs about this relationship. Like all too well, I mean, it speaks for itself."
